TRIO A NATIONAL ASSET (Pretoria News)
To particularise is the mark of genius. If justification was to be found for William Blake's dictum -- the playing of the harp trio is certainly it. Last night an enthusiastic audience in the Musaion - which was full for the first time in its existence - will bear testimony to this. The whole ensemble with Walter Mony playing the violin and Lucien Grujon playing the flute - is a national asset. Chile has used Claudio Arrau and Czechoslovakia its ensembles to act as ambassadors. A world tour by this ensemble, who could hold the most critical audience, would be overwhelming evidence of music culture in this country. What vitality and what rhythmical drive/mark Walter Mony's playing of Jan Cras's sonata for harp and violin! His soaring line never fails to grip the emotions, without the unfortunate implications now associated with the word.

(RAND DAILY MAIL, Jhb.)
THAT THE PLAYERS WERE ABLE TO COPE WITH THE ODD BROKEN RHYTHMS AND MIXTURES OF TIME SIGNATURES WAS IN ITSELF SOMETHING TO MARVEL AT, BUT THAT THERE WAS ARTISTRY IN ADDITION IS A TRIBUTE TO THEIR MUSICIANSHIP. THERE CAN BE NO DOUBT THAT THIS COMBINATION IS A TRIO OF INTERNATIONAL QUALITY.

(RECORDER, NATAL WITNESS)
PERFECT BLENDING, ELEGANCE AND MUSICAL ENCHANTMENT ARE THE HALLMARKS OF THE NEDERBURG TRIO. NOT FOR MANY MONTHS HAVE I SO ENJOYED AN EVENING OF SHEER MUSICAL BLISS.

(THE STAR)
THE WORKS PLAYED ARE LITTLE KNOWN OUTSIDE A LIMITED CIRCLE, AND IT IS A CREDIT TO THE PLAYERS THAT THEY ACHIEVED DISTINCTION IN THEIR INTERPRETATION OF THESE MODERN COMPOSERS.

(THE TIMES, LONDON)
THE NEDERBURG HARP TRIO GAVE A LESSON IN THE MORE CONVERSATIONAL ART OF MUSIC MAKING DESPATCHED WITH CHARM AND MINIMAL OSTENTATION.

(DIE VADERLAND)
THE BLENDING OF TONE (ESPECIALLY IN THE SERENADE) WAS OF THE HIGHEST, PUREST AND UTTERMOST BEAUTY - AND ALL THREE ARTISTS PLAYED WITH DEEP INSIGHT AND SENSITIVITY. ENSEMBLE PLAYING THROUGHOUT WAS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY.

(NATAL MERCURY)
THE MEMBERS OF THE NEDERBURG TRIO, KATHLEEN ALISTER (HARP), WALTER MONY (VIOLIN) AND LUCIEN GRUJON (FLUTE), WHO GAVE A RECITAL IN THE BAUMANN HALL LAST NIGHT, ARE ALL FIRST-RATE INSTRUMENTALISTS IN THEIR OWN RIGHT BUT THEIR EXCELLENCE AS A TRIO LIES, OF COURSE, IN THEIR SUPERB ENSEMBLE.

(CAPE TIMES)
LAST NIGHT WE WERE PLUNGED INTO AN EVENING OF SHEER ROMANTICISM WHEN THE NEDERBURG HARP TRIO ENCHANTED A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE CONSERVATORIUM HALL.
